Bangur Cement - PPC

Portland Pozzolana Cement

Available under the brand name of Bangur Cement, our Portland Pozzolana Cement (PPC), is increasingly used in large-scale construction projects exposed to corrosive environments. It contains specially treated fly ash, high-quality clinker, and gypsum, all conforming to IS1489 (Part-1): 2015 standards. The treated fly ash improves workability with a reduced water-cement ratio, enhances ultimate strength, reduces permeability, and provides resistance against sulphate attack and alkali-silica reaction. PPC is ideal for construction exposed to sulphate-reactive environments, such as sewage treatment plants, foundations, dams, canals, offshore structures, concrete roads, bridges, and high-rise commercial buildings.

Advantages
  • High Strength and Durability: The pozzolanic material in PPC improves the strength and durability of concrete.

  • Reduced Heat of Hydration: Minimizing thermal cracking as less heat is generated during hydration process.

  • Resistance to Chemical Attacks: Resists sulphates and chloride attacks, thus prevents corrosion of steel rebars.

  • Admixture Compatibility: Compatible with various chemical admixtures, including plasticizers, superplasticizers, and accelerators.

  • Environmental Benefits: Utilizes fly for long term strength gain, while helping in lowering the carbon footprint.

We are Here to Address your Questions

Portland Pozzolana Cement (PPC) is a type of blended cement that contains Portland cement clinker, pozzolanic materials (such as fly ash), and gypsum. It is known for its enhanced durability and resistance to environmental conditions.

Pozzolanic materials are natural or artificial substances that, when mixed with lime or cement, form a compound that enhances the strength and durability of concrete. Common pozzolanic materials include fly ash and Slag.

PPC offers several advantages over Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC), including improved resistance to chemical attacks, reduced heat of hydration, and enhanced durability. It is also more environmentally friendly due to the use of industrial by-products.

PPC is widely used in various construction applications, including residential buildings, commercial structures, roads, and bridges. It is particularly suitable for structures exposed to harsh environmental conditions or requiring long-term durability.

PPC typically has a slower setting time compared to OPC. However, its long-term strength development is comparable, if not superior, due to the pozzolanic reaction, which continues to enhance strength over time.

PPC should be stored in a dry, cool place to prevent moisture absorption, which can affect its performance. It should be kept elevated off the ground and protected from rain and humidity.  For any queries, please reach out to us.
